Working at the FSU Summer Music Camps is a unique opportunity to help students make music and memories during the best week of their summer.
FOR ALL POSITIONS
Candidates selected for Summer 2026 employment will be required to complete hiring paperwork, including a background check. Employment is not finalized and work may not begin until all required paperwork is submitted and a cleared background check result has been received. Background checks will require fingerprinting and having a photo taken. The additional hiring paperwork may require proof of eligibility via specific forms of identification; requirements will vary from person to person, but please make sure that you are able to physically access and present at least one document from List A or two from List B of the Form I-9 acceptable documents.
CAMP COUNSELORS
At the FSU Summer Music Camps, we employ day counselors and night counselors. Despite some differences in overall job duties, all of our counselors have a primary responsibility for the care, safety, and well-being of the campers. The ultimate goal of our camp counselors is to keep everyone happy and safe so that all campers have an incredible music camp experience.
While the specific camp counselor roles and responsibilities will vary, all counselor responsibilities will include:
Keeping campers safe
Assisting with daily tasks
Serving as role models
Offering emotional support
Enforcing camp rules and guidelines if they’re being broken
Dealing with any emergencies as they arise
Helping to maintaining camp facilities (classrooms, performance spaces, dorm rooms, and equipment)
Keeping accurate records of attendance and incidents
We expect all of our counselors to display
Positive attitude and energy
Strong communication skills
Great leadership skills
Flexibility and reliability
Counselors must be available to work all dates between June 3 – July 4, 2026.
INSTRUCTORS
