About Being A Counselor
At the FSU Summer Music Camps, we employ day counselors and night counselors. Despite some differences in overall job duties, all of our counselors have a primary responsibility for the care, safety, and well-being of the campers. The ultimate goal of our camp counselors is to keep everyone happy and safe so that all campers have an incredible music camp experience.
While the specific camp counselor roles and responsibilities will vary, all counselor responsibilities will include:
Keeping campers safe

Enforcing camp rules and guidelines if they’re being broken
Dealing with any emergencies as they arise
Helping to maintaining camp facilities (classrooms, performance spaces, dorm rooms, and equipment)

We expect all of our counselors to display
Positive attitude and energy
