The Florida State University College of Music is proud to present the first Housewright Virtuoso Series performance of the spring semester: “Strange Bedfellows.” This unique performance will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in Opperman Music Hall.

“Strange Bedfellows” brings together College of Music faculty and guest artists for an evening that blurs the lines between auditory and visual storytelling. The program features a diverse repertoire ranging from the classic Brazilian sounds of Heitor Villa-Lobos to the avant-garde, electronic explorations of George Crumb and Angélica Negrón.

Audiences will experience the celebrated artworks of Meyoko/Melissa Murillo and the late Lumin Wakoa and the evocative nature photography of David Moynahan alongside performances by Metropolitan Opera soprano Marcy Stonikas, internationally acclaimed harpist Noël Wan, and other distinguished College of Music faculty including Jeff Keesecker (bassoon), Mary Matthews (flute), Stephen Mattingly (guitar), Pamela Ryan (viola), Greg Sauer (cello), and Valerie M. Trujillo (piano).

This performance, like all Housewright Virtuoso Series performances, is free and open to the public.

About the Housewright Virtuoso Series: The Housewright Virtuoso Series brings world-renowned performers and distinguished faculty to the stage, providing the Tallahassee community with access to premier musical performances and educational opportunities.
