Tallahassee Senior Singers

The Tallahassee Senior Singers is a community outreach choral ensemble in partnership with the City of Tallahassee’s Senior Services. Designed for senior citizens, the choir is open to all older adults who enjoy singing and want to have fun; no audition is necessary. The ensemble performs at various venues, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and adult day cares around the local area.

Membership: The choir is open to all seniors; no audition is necessary.
Cost: Free
Meeting Time: Tuesdays, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Location: Tallahassee Senior Center, 2nd Floor Auditorium

Music: All music is recommended and chosen by the choir members. The choir sings a wide range of music, from popular music from the 1900s-1970s, to folksongs, patriotic tunes, religious music, and songs from musicals.

Leadership: The choir is led by Dr. Kimberly VanWeelden, a professor at Florida State University, and is assisted by FSU choral and music therapy students.
