Choral Conducting 101: An Introduction to Waving Your Arms in Style

Star Wars Cantina Band: K-2 Elementary

We are missing our elementary music camp stars so we want to give you a chance to SHINE this summer! Join us for some lessons that are out of this world!  

On June 9th, K-2 graders can keep the beat with Ms. Buckley and Ms. Windle in our Star Wars "Cantina Band". Join in the band with kitchen instruments (pots, pans, mixing bowls) and go on a star dance music exploration. Get ready to play and move to the music!

Guitarists of all levels can learn the "in's and out's" of alternate picking to improve creativity and coordination. Learn how chord strummers and lead guitarists alike harness their pick motion no matter the style. Through drilling of simple scale shapes and patterns, players will also learn to simply fret-hand motion and combine both hands for more efficient, productive playing.

Building Behaviors of Expression

When singers think about expression, they tend to think in terms of dynamics, but in reality great expression is a revealed through diction—how aggressive or gently singers approach consonants can make a huge impact on the effectiveness of a performance. There are a shocking number of choices that expressive singers make in regards to diction.   Dr. Kevin Fenton leads this live, interactive class which will explore a few of these options.

Unlocking the Music: Score Study for Singers
