The Housewright Virtuoso Series features renowned artists from around the world and from our esteemed faculty in the College of Music. This unique and eclectic concert series provides a rich array of musical styles presented by some of the most distinguished artists in the music world. The Wiley and Lucilla Housewright Scholars Fund makes this series possible. All events are free and open to the public.

September 10
A Vocal Mosaic
Jazz, Broadway, art song, and opera arias weave a pleasing vocal mosaic in this evening of song presented by artist faculty from the Florida State University College of Music. Join Marcía Porter, Tiffany Renée Jackson, Alisa Hauser, Eric Rieger, André Chiang, Evan Jones, and David Okerlund and collaborative pianists Natalie Sherer and Katie Barr as they present beautiful melodies from across vocal genres.

October 2
Landscapes of Sound: Chamber Music from Latin America
FSU chamber musicians Evan Jones, Eduardo López-Dabdoub, and Diana Dumlavwalla perform vibrant works from Latin America, highlighting rhythmic vitality, colorful textures, and diverse cultural traditions in an engaging program celebrating the richness and energy of this repertoire.

October 8
Members of the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra
Founded in Los Angeles in 2014, Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra brings six musicians to FSU for a three-day residency, collaborating with faculty in a self-conducted concert highlighting democratic artistry, student engagement, and innovative programming.

Musicological Brainfood
FSU scholars and guest researchers gather for the Musicological Brainfood Symposium, engaging in discussions, presentations, and collaborative exploration of music’s evolving role within global culture and contemporary scholarly perspectives. (All day, Longmire Recital Hall.)

FSU Choirs with André van der Merwe

ModernMedieval: The Living Word
An a cappella program blending medieval chant and contemporary works that explores Hildegard of Bingen’s legacy through expressive soundscapes, spiritual themes, and innovative interpretations by today’s composers.

Beethoven: A Life in One Evening
Celebrating the bicentennial of Beethoven’s legacy, FSU faculty present an evening of the composer’s early, middle, and late works alongside a world premiere, tracing a revolutionary arc through intimate chamber dialogue.

The Triple Cortado Trio presents virtuosic brass and piano repertoire that blends classical, jazz, and Latin influences, showcasing dynamic interplay, innovation, and exceptional ensemble artistry.
