Winners of major chamber music competitions in America and Asia, the Aizuri Quartet comes to Tallahassee for the first time with a program that traces a journey from darkness to dawn, culminating in the warmth of Haydn’s “Sunrise” Quartet. This program explores the ways in which the atmosphere, psychological power, and political metaphor of the night have been an inspiration for composers from the classical era to the present-day. Featuring works by Clara Schumann, Béla Bartók, Tanya Tagaq, and Joseph Haydn. Join us for an evening with this group that The New York Times applauds as “genuinely exciting,””imaginative,” and “a quartet of expert collaborators!”
