The Vocal Mosaic program weaves together a vibrant tapestry of musical styles, eras, and traditions. The performance features selections chosen from a diverse and captivating lineup, including:
Opera & Operatic Masterpieces: Mozart’s timeless duets and arias like “La ci darem la mano” from Don Giovanni and “Aprite un po quegli’occhi” from Le nozze di Figaro, alongside Rossini’s sparkling “Largo al factotum” and Offenbach’s lush “Belle nuit, ô nuit d’amour.”
Broadway & Musical Theatre Classics: Crowd-pleasing showstoppers such as Rodgers & Hart’s “Sing For Your Supper” and “This Can’t Be Love,” Frank Loesser’s hilarious “Adelaide’s Lament,” Stephen Sondheim’s witty “Agony,” and Dave Malloy’s poignant “Dust and Ashes.”
Art Song, Jazz, & Cultural Treasures: Soulful works including Duke Ellington’s “Come Sunday,” B.E. Boykin’s “Secrets,” Heitor Villa-Lobos’s evocative “Melodia Sentimental,” Margaret Bonds’s spiritual arrangement “Little David,” and Bizet’s brilliant “Phantasie über Motive aus der Oper Carmen.”
