College of Music Partners with Leading Audio Tech Companies

The Florida State University College of Music is proud to announce a groundbreaking partnership with two leading audio technology companies, Eventide Audio and Oeksound. This collaboration brings cutting-edge software tools to students in the College’s Commercial Music program, equipping them with world-class resources for their academic and creative pursuits.

Eventide Audio, a pioneering American company founded in 1971, and Oeksound, a Helsinki-based innovator in audio plug-ins since 2016, have both generously donated full access to their plug-in suites for all workstations in the Commercial Music program’s computer lab and recording studio. This contribution, valued at over $50,000, ensures that College of Music students will have access to some of the most advanced audio processing technology available today.

“Having access to these plugins will allow students to work with cutting-edge software that is fast becoming the industry standard,” said Wellington ‘Wells’ Gordon, a Commercial Music faculty member in the College of Music.

“Our students now have the opportunity to explore these tools hands-on and refine their workflows in a professional environment,” continued Gordon. “They can experiment with top-tier software without the financial barrier, which is often a challenge for those entering the industry.”

Gordon, who recently met with representatives from both Eventide and Oeksound as part of an educational advisory board, emphasized the significant impact this partnership will have on the student experience.

“Beyond the donation, both companies are also offering exclusive discounts to students, allowing them to continue their work outside of the classroom,” said Gordon. “This partnership will undoubtedly provide students with an edge as they move into their professional careers.”

This collaboration marks another step in the College of Music’s ongoing efforts to provide its students with the tools and experiences necessary to succeed in an ever-evolving industry.
