A native of Grove City, Ohio, Jacob Heacock first found his voice through musical theatre before turning to opera and song. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from The Ohio State University and a Master of Music in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. He has appeared as a Festival Artist at the Tanglewood Music Center, as a soloist with the Mendelssohn Kammerorchester Leipzig, and as Angie the Ox/Joey Biltmore in Opera Saratoga’s production of Guys and Dolls. After moving into opera administration with Peabody Opera Theatre, where he supported students from the rehearsal room to the stage, he now serves as Graduate Academic Program Specialist at the Florida State University College of Music.
Heacock is passionate about supporting the training and success of the next generation of artists. He is especially drawn to work that bridges genres, particularly where opera and musical theatre meet. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Marketing.
