Flor del Cielo Hernandez

Flor del Cielo Hernandez, PhD, MT-BC, is a Board-Certified Music Therapist with over 15 years of clinical experience, primarily in mental health. She has worked across the lifespan in settings including private practice, early childhood, and special education, providing bilingual (Spanish and English) services to individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, dementia, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, and substance use disorders. Over the course of her clinical career, Hernandez has trained and supervised more than 30 interns and numerous practicum students.
She has presented her work at regional, national, and international conferences. Her research focuses on mental health, particularly the intersections of music, emotion regulation, and well-being in diverse populations. Hernandez received the bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and completed both master’s and doctoral degrees in Music Therapy at Florida State University.
