Elizabeth Uchimura is the Music Digital Services and Special Collections Librarian at the Warren D. Allen Music Library. She holds a BA in Music and an MS in Information from Florida State and is currently pursuing an MM in Musicology.
Elizabeth’s research interests include genre and race in the American music industry and vernacular and commercial singing styles. She has presented her work on barbershop and doo-wop at meetings for the Society for American Music and the Southern Chapter of the American Musicological Society.
An avid barbershopper, Elizabeth has directed two barbershop choruses and sings in quartets as often as possible. She can often be seen leading “tag” sessions in the College of Music breezeway.
