Associate Professor of Violin Corinne Stillwell has been the focus of a recent article in Tallahassee Magazine for her work with Music for Food, a volunteer-driven initiative led by professional musicians to combat hunger in the local communities.
The 40+ volunteer performers in the Tallahassee chapter – founded by Stillwell – are primarily FSU alumni, retired faculty, and faculty spouses. These volunteer musicians present several free performances each year to raise awareness and gather donations for the FSU Food for Thought Pantry.
In the 2023–2024 academic year, the pantry served over 3,200 students (an increase of more than 50% from the year prior), underscoring the need for continued support.
The next two performances are scheduled for May 18 and July 27 at Grace Lutheran Church on Miccosukee Road.
