Housewright Virtuoso Series Recap: Incantare

The FSU College of Music and the early music group Incantare commemorated the 200th anniversary of Florida becoming a U.S. territory in a special concert performance in Dohnányi Recital Hall on Sunday, February 20, 2022. The group, who visited the College as part of the Housewright Virtuoso Series, took to the stage with College of Music faculty and students from the Early Music ensembles to present “Musical Landscapes Across the New World,” a musical tour that began with music from 16th-century Spanish Florida and concluded with a sampling of music from the Spanish territories throughout the Americas. 

As guests of the Housewright Virtuoso Series, Incantare also presented masterclasses and lectures to College of Music students during their residency, exploring the style, process, history, context, and performance practice of the music.
