BRYAN
GOFF, Professor of Trumpet and Coordinator
of Winds and Percussion, joined the faculty
of Florida State University in 1974. His
degrees are all from the University of Colorado.
Prior to his FSU appointment he was trumpet
soloist with the Air Force Academy and taught
in Colorado. He is a charter member of the
Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, playing
principal trumpet, and appears extensively
as a soloist and clinician throughout the
United States and abroad.
Goff
has appeared as soloist with the Florida
Symphony and Tallahassee Symphony and has
performed with the Atlanta Symphony, Colorado
Springs Philharmonic, and others. He studied
Baroque trumpet with Edward Tarr and frequently
appears as soloist on that instrument and
with the FSU Baroque Trumpet ensemble. Professor
Goff is past-president of the National Association
of College Wind and Percussion Instructors,
and served as Treasurer for the International
Trumpet Guild for 16 years and has also
served on their Board of Directors.
Florida
State University recently honored Professor
Goff for his teaching and performing by
granting him a Named Professorship, the
Robert T. Braunagel Professor of Music.
