The College of Music is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to our staff. Please join us in welcoming Leslie Deslis, Heather Mayo, and Michelle Pohto to the College of Music!
Leslie Deslis, Director of Development, joins us after three years with the FSU Foundation as a development officer for the College of Arts and Sciences, where she successfully developed relationships resulting in a variety of gifts to support fundraising priorities. Leslie brings both passion and skill to her new position in the College of Music, and she looks forward to building support for many exciting initiatives and opportunities for our students.
Heather Mayo, Interim Director of Community Engagement, received the MA in Arts Administration from the Florida State University College of Music in 2010. During her graduate studies, Heather served as a graduate assistant in the College of Music Office of Admissions and Office of the Dean and completed internships at The FSU School of Dance and Florida Division of Cultural Affairs. For the past year, Heather has served as Production Support Coordinator for Ruby Diamond Concert Hall in which she oversees performance logistics and client relations for the Hall and oversees all of the contracts and billing for all College of Music Performance Halls. Heather is also involved as a volunteer with the fundraising board for the FSU School of Dance, “Friends of Dance,” and is serving as their Vice-President for the upcoming two years. In her interim position, Heather will manage many of the College’s special performance and residency initiatives, including the Housewright Scholar Program, College of Music Faculty Chamber and Showcase Recitals, the Carnegie Hall student program, the Costa Rica collaboration project, and other special guest artist residencies.
Michelle Pohto, Director of Fiscal Offices (now located in the Kellogg Building), received her Bachelor’s degree in Family, Child, and Consumer Sciences in 2005 from Florida State University.
